Mark L. Hagood, MD
Married and blessed with three children, Dr. Mark Hagood is a native of Huntsville. He completed his internship and ENT surgical training at Duke University Medical Center and is Board Certified in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery by the American Board of Specialties. He obtained his MD degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB). Prior to medical training, he obtained a liberal arts education and Bachelor of Science degree at Birmingham – Southern College.
Dr. Hagood has been in private practice and a part of North Alabama’s medical community for over 22 years. He has received America’s Best Physicians Award for compassion, America’s Top Doctors Award 2014 and elected to Who’s Who among America’s ENT Surgeons.
Pioneering innovations and advances in ENT for North Alabama, his practice has the distinction of medical and surgical firsts for the regions, including image-guided sinus surgery, BAHA Bone-anchored hearing aid implant prostheses and Transoral Robotic surgery.
He is actively involved in supporting the medical community having served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Surgery. He has served on multiple advisory committees at both hospital systems and continues to serve on the physician leadership group at the nearby hospital. He is also a Diver’s Alert Network Physician.
Dr. Hagood routinely performs advanced surgical treatments for head and neck cancer. In addition, areas of special interest include ear surgery with ear bone and tympanic membrane reconstruction and bone-anchored hearing aid placement, laryngeal laser surgery, minimally invasive sinus surgery (sinuplasty), nasal breathing surgery and minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
